She is the first woman to lead Japan's most powerful labor organization -- which boasts around 7 million members -- and will speak about Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Japan's first female prime minister, and the future of her administration. Rengo has long been an influential voice in the nation's politics. Yoshino has used her position recently to speak about what might be the single most decisive issue to Japan's voters: the rising price of food, housing, and other daily essentials. While Takaichi is currently riding high in media polls over of her strong stand on Taiwan, voters are more likely to prioritize economic issues when the next election rolls around, which some reports indicate might be as early as next year. Rengo has traditionally aligned with opposition parties.
